Harold López-Nussa was born into a musical family in Havana, Republic of cuba. At viii-years-old, López-Nussa began studying at the Manuel Saumell Elementary Schoolhouse of Music. He continued his training at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and graduated with a degree in classical piano from the Instituto Superior de Artes (ISA) in Havana.

López-Nussa now moves with ease betwixt the classical, pop, and jazz worlds. While he has recorded classical concertos, he has also won the top awards at international jazz competitions, such as the Jazz Solo Piano Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
